Lieutenant General Thomas J. Sharpy, USAF (Ret), is the Vice President of Customer Development at Portal Space Systems and the founder of Sharpy Group LLC, where he has delivered keynote addresses for NATO and served on several advisory boards.

With over 39 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Air Force, Tom has led thousands through peacetime and crisis operations. His military career culminated as the lead senior executive for Allied Command Transformation, where he developed strategic capabilities for NATO’s 30 member nations, championing initiatives in Command and Control, Cyber Security, and Joint Air Power.

Tom has managed budgets exceeding $15 billion and oversaw the introduction of the KC-46 tanker aircraft. He played a critical role in combat operations in Libya and hurricane relief in Puerto Rico, earning commendations from Vice President Cheney for his actions during the 9/11 attacks.

A Command Pilot with over 4,000 flying hours, Tom has held significant command positions and led human resources initiatives at the Pentagon. He holds an MBA and a Master’s in National Resource Strategy and is a graduate of Harvard’s Senior Executive Fellowship. He and his wife Lori have two sons serving in the Air Force.
