Roger Lascorz Guiu
Roger was born in Reus, Catalonia, and came to the US at age 16 to start college at the University of West Georgia. He graduated with his B.S. in Physics, earning Magna Cum Laude. He graduated with his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering with highest honors, and a master’s from Georgia Tech. Aside from NASA, one of his proudest accomplishments was becoming an American citizen in 2018. He works in the Voice Systems Group where he makes prototypes that reduce costs and/or survive tricky environments that are unique to NASA. His work supported the Artemis I mission. He also leads an Employee Resource Group, New Americans which represents foreign-born and first-generation Americans. He is currently on a temporary promotion to HQ as a Business Relationship Manager. His passion and work have not gone unrecognized, and he’s been given many awards, certificates, the future leader of technology award, and even the coveted Gold Dollar award. In his free time, he likes playing with his cats, biking, and gardening.
