Dr. Nazario been with NASA for over 30 years. During her career, she’s worked at various locations including The NASA John H. Glenn Research Center (Cleveland, OH), The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Pasadena, CA), NASA Headquarters (Washington, DC), and NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (Huntsville, AL).

Dr. Nazario began her career as a researcher, inventing several optical devices and then moved into project management where she managed several flight projects. Most recently, she was project manager of NASA’s Evolutionary Xenon Thruster-Commercial (NEXT-C). This electric propulsion system flew on the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) in 2021. Currently, Dr. Nazario is the Optics and Photonics Branch Chief at the NASA Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field.  This branch is actively developing technologies for aero and space optical communications applications.
