Fred Taylor

VP, Space & Cyber Applications, Viasat

Fred Taylor is the Viasat Government Systems Vice President, Space and Cyber Applications responsible for strategy formulation, business initiatives, and integration of cutting-edge commercial space network and communication solutions purposed for government missions and applications that could benefit from Viasat crafted space-enabled technology innovations.

Prior to joining Viasat, Fred served in a variety of operations, command, acquisition, and staff positions within the US Air Force, the National Reconnaissance Office, Missile Defense Agency, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He has wide-ranging experience in space and cyberspace operations, acquisition program management, policy development, and political-military affairs. He culminated his military career as the Deputy Director of the Joint Space Operations Center and National Reconnaissance Office Senior Liaison charged with coordinating, planning, integrating, synchronizing and executing space operations to deliver tailored space effects in support of the intelligence community and joint warfighters around the globe.

Fred graduated from the US Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He also earned a Master of Business Administration (International Business) from National University, CA; Master of Arts in Organizational Management from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; and a Master of Arts in Military Operational Art from Air University, AL. In addition, Fred was a National Security Fellow at the Harvard J.F.K School of Government where he completed coursework, lectured on space operations, and researched & published material on cyberspace superiority.
