Mr. Freer enjoyed a 40 year carreer working within the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Organization in a variety of roles.  Starting as an Air Traffic Controller at Houston Air Route Traffic Control Center, Mr. Freer advanced through leadership positions that specialized in change management.  Mr. Freer led teams involved with aviation safety, training, traffic flow management and space operations.  In Space Operations, he worked with space and aviation stakeholders and within the ATO to develop systems and processes that evolved integration of operations into the National Airspace System.  This work improved integration of space operations in a safe manner while gaining efficiency.

Following his federal career, Mr. Freer joined Advanced Sciences and Technologies (AS&T) as Director of Spae Operations in April 2024.   AS&T has a history of working with the FAA on air traffic systems and was the lead developer of the Space Data Integrator (SDI).
