Connie LaMorte has over 25 years of experience in the material joining industry, with expertise in the areas of laser-based vision, in-process monitoring, adaptive welding, and automation. She initiates, leads, and oversees contract R&D projects for EWI members. She has developed inspection and control solutions in a range of industries with an emphasis on weld-related defect detection and in-process monitoring. She has expertise developing custom hardware and software solutions and assisting member companies with the implementation of machine vision in the field. Connie also provides expert support in the development of automated inspection, adaptive welding systems, and algorithms for adaptive control. She is currently leading EWI’s innovations in tele-manufacturing technologies including tele-welding, tele-inspection, and other tele-presence-controlled manufacturing technologies.
