Carol Craig
Carol Craig is the sole founder and CEO of Sidus Space Inc. (NASDAQ: SIDU), making history as the first female founder and owner of a space-based company to take it public. Sidus Space debuted on the Nasdaq through its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on December 14, 2021.
A trailblazer in both aerospace and business, Carol’s career exemplifies her passion for innovation and leadership. Before becoming a self-proclaimed "astropreneur," she broke barriers as one of the first women eligible to fly combat aircraft in the U.S. Navy. As a P-3C Orion Naval Flight Officer, she managed tactical communication and navigation aboard combat aircraft and served as the first female aviator in her squadron. Earlier in her career, she applied her engineering expertise to develop software for military aircraft cockpit systems and later became a flight planning software instructor at the U.S. Navy Strike Fighter Weapons School.
In addition to founding Sidus Space, Carol established Craig Technologies, a successful aerospace and defense contracting company renowned for delivering comprehensive engineering solutions, including software development, systems engineering, IT support, and integrated logistics.
Under Carol’s leadership, Sidus Space has emerged as a leader in space innovation, offering end-to-end satellite solutions such as custom satellite design, payload hosting, mission management, and AI-driven space-based sensor data-as-a-service. The company’s flagship satellite, **LizzieSat™**, represents a significant leap in satellite technology. This hybrid, 3D-printed satellite showcases the company’s advanced capabilities in space manufacturing and operations, reinforcing its mission: *Space Access Reimagined™*.
Sidus Space operates a 35,000-square-foot facility on Florida’s Space Coast, dedicated to space manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing. Its strategic location enables seamless collaboration with nearby launch facilities. Serving government, defense, intelligence, and commercial clients globally, Sidus Space continues to redefine space access and data utilization with its adaptable, cost-effective solutions.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Carol is committed to giving back. In 2001, inspired by her son Danny’s diagnosis of Prader-Willi Syndrome, she founded the Danny Craig Foundation to support research and initiatives for children’s medical disorders. Carol resides on Florida’s Space Coast with her husband, CAPT John W. Craig, USN (Ret.), a former F/A-18 pilot and current JetBlue Airways captain, and their two children.
