Patrick (Pat) Carr is the Senior Customer Executive, Mission Support and Modernization (MSM), a mission area within Raytheon’s Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) business area. Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), with 2013 sales of $24 billion and 63,000 employees worldwide, is a technology and innovation leader specializing in defense, homeland security and other government markets throughout the world. Raytheon’s global headquarters is in Waltham, Mass.
IIS, with 2013 external revenues of $5.5 billion and 17,000 employees worldwide, provides a full range of ISR, cybersecurity, training, space, logistics and engineering solutions for the DoD, NASA, intelligence communities and other government and civilian customers.
Mr. Carr joined the Raytheon Team in the spring of 2015. In his current role, Carr is responsible for GMO Federal Programs including key NASA programs at GSFS, JSC and JPL and Range programs. Additionally he focuses on customer relationships, building strong, positive partnerships and business growth.
Before joining the Raytheon Team, Carr was the Vice President and General Manger of Command, Control and Communications (C3) Systems for the Information Systems division of Exelis in Herndon VA. Exelis was spun off from ITT Corporation on October 31, 2011.
In this position Mr. Carr was responsible for performance, strategy, leadership and customer relations for the C3 Systems business area. C3 Systems focused on space operation and RF/spectrum engineering services and space ground and range systems engineering, lifecycle sustainment, logistic support, modernization, and director for the Space lift Range Systems
Contract responsible for sustaining and modernizing Air Force Space Command’s Launch and Test Ranges, which are the
Eastern Range at Patrick AFB, Fla., and Western Range at Vandenberg AFB, Calif. He served as ITT’s DSN Operations & Maintenance Contract Program Manager in Pasadena, CA responsible for providing operations and maintenance support for the DSN which supports JPLs/NASAs critical space exploration missions.
Mr. Carr was a career Air Force officer and before joining industry held key leadership positions in the space and missile career fields. He has over 40 years’ experience in the aerospace and defense industry including assignments at the Pentagon and key U.S. satellite command and control, early warning, ICBM, and launch facilities around the country.
Mr. Carr is a past member and past Chairman of the Pikes Peak Workforce Investment Board, a past member of the Colorado Work Force Board and has served on the National Association of Workforce Boards. He is a board member for the Florida Chapter of the National Space Foundation, a former board member of the Pikes Peak Community College Foundation and Colorado Springs Armed Forces YMCA.
Mr. Carr was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., holds a bachelor’s degree from Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, Pa., and has done graduate work at the University of Northern Colorado.
